Botox

Botox is a naturally occurring substance that was discovered to have a remarkable effect on the muscles of the face. Everything you do with your face requires many muscles — sometimes dozens. Some of these muscles you control, others just go along for the ride. It is those latter muscles that can cause problems. You may not notice the way you arch your eyebrows when you read the morning paper, or crease your forehead as you listen to a news broadcast. But your muscles don’t forget, and they clench and pull every time you do these things, quite involuntarily.

Like all muscles, the muscles of the face get firmer and tighter as you work them, until those creases and arches won’t go away. That’s where Botox comes in. A tiny, painless injection into the muscle relaxes it —puts it to sleep temporarily to rid you of the lines that all those years of talking, laughing, smiling and living has left on your face.

Botox must be carefully administered, and it can be used repeatedly every three to four months. You can count on Dr. Taranow's long surgical experience to see that your Botox treatments provide maximum effect and maximum safety.
