Juvederm

Everyday facial expressions often cause lines, wrinkles, and creases to form on the skin, which often are tell-tale signs of aging. In order to reduce their appearance, individuals frequently opt to undergo a non-invasive rejuvenating procedure to slow the aging process. These can be greatly beneficial to patients who have minimal signs of damage and want to achieve a more refreshed look.

A common solution to filling in wrinkles and creases on the facial skin is an injectable facial filler, consisting of hyaluronic acid, Juvederm T. Juvederm can help fill in fine lines, wrinkles, and creases by lifting the underlying tissue. Mimicking the body's own hyaluronic acid, it rejuvenates the facial skin; usually, patients target the nasolabial folds (lines around the mouth) in order to reduce the appearance of "marionette lines."

In addition, Juvederm can be used to add volume to the lips and cheeks. Based on the patient's desired outcome and Dr. Taranow's professional guidance, the dermal filler can be injected into the mid- to deep dermis of the face.

When inquiring about Juvederm, Dr. Taranow will explain the treatment, possible complications, and healing process. Typically, patients may anticipate some redness, pain, and tenderness following the injections; these should subside within a few days post-treatment. More serious but rare complications include firmness, swelling, and bruising, which typically diminishes within seven days. Results normally last six to nine months at which point patients may return for additional injections.
